My work is thrown on the potter’s wheel. I use a white stoneware clay and fire to twelve hundred degrees centigrade.

Each piece is unique.

Using ceramic underglaze colours and stains,

I use the clay surface to experiment with the interaction of colours. I add a transparent stoneware glaze which makes the wares very strong and durable and also enhances the colours. The work is intuitive and spontaneous resulting in a sense of movement and fluidity

in colour and form on the surface of the pieces.

I also always have a sketch book of current ideas.

Many years of studying all kinds of art and artists have influenced my work including Abstract artists such as Lee Krasner as well as ancient Chinese and Greek ceramics. My work continues to change and develop and my current work introduces a wider colour palette.
